~ Ilima:  With over 20 years of extensive training in Hula, Tahitian, classical ballet, modern, tap, Jazz, gymnastics and both traditional and tribal belly dance, Ilima is recognized around the United States for her ability to execute precise, yet fluid movements  and her unique style of dancing flows through her like fire, water, Earth and air.  Of Hawaiian/Aztec (HiTec) decent this professional dancer, began dancing at the age of three studying traditional Hula, Tahitian, and went on to start her first dance company entitled Local Motion at the young age of 15.  She was the drill team head choreographer during high school and won her troupe all three awards given at Summer drill team camp. At seventeen she received a full tuition scholarship in Dance and Theater Arts from Southern Utah University. Voraciously attending dance classes in a wide variety of styles and dancing with both the American Folk Ballet and Orchasis Modern Dance Company, during college, Ilima developed impeccable technique, creativity, and elegance. Ilima then graduated with a BA in Theater Arts and Dance. After graduation Ilima enrolled at the the University of Utah to attain a masters degree. She studied childhood development and movement therapy. Two years later she held a professional position teaching movement therapy at Valley Mental Health in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Three years later she moved to Hawaii, home of her ancestors, there she learned, taught, and performed belly dance, hula dance, and began a children's dance class at the community center on Kauai. Five years later she moved to Virginia and began Rhythm Fire Cultural Dance Company to bring the art of cultural dance and her love of teaching and performing to the community. Ilima grew up knowing that making dance available to all people is a great way to bridge cultures, make friends, and build community, something that enriches everyone's life!

~ Sam: With a stage presence that is powerful yet playful Sam's creativity captures the emotions of all who watch. She has been sharing her art at festivals for over ten years. From Renaissance festivals around the country to her home town Floyd and its world music festival. One of her biggest goals is that in the hearts of those she encounters, a spark is ignited which will inspire them to follow their own creative dreams. From Henna Body art to belly dance, fire shows and being a community herbalist, midwife and mother, she enjoys engaging and teaching others about how beneficial creative freedom can be for the mind, body, and soul. Mamma Sam herself started into the world of movement arts through martial arts and was introduced to the beautiful ancient art of belly dance in 2005 by her dancing mentor and dear friend Ilima. Belly dance is a powerfull healing way to regain the physical strength mothers need after childbirth along with its supportive energy for the mind and soul. This is what inspired Sam to explore movement arts even more. A journey into Yoga along with other dace and martial art modalities led her to begin spinning staff. In 2008 the mesmerizing beauty of fire which demands the utmost respect became one of her favorite dancing tools. She now incorporates many forms of movement together as she reaches out to audiences and students. Sam brings fun tools such as zills, veils, baskets, fans, flags, glow/fire-poi, single and double glow/fire-staffs, glow-hoop, fire-fingers, palm torches, and fire-bowls to the show. “My heart is deeply filled with joy when I am able to witness the rejuvenating power of dance filling the spirit of a students or audience members.”

~ Greg Torizzlo: "A One Man Hawaiian Band"  I grew up in San Diego and moved to Oahu, Hawai'i in 1988 to play for a dance hall Reggae band. This lead me to play in a Top 40 group that was the house band at the Blue Water Cafe on Kuhio Ave, in the heart of Waikiki. In 1992 Maui was now my home base. On my off time, I toured overseas to over 15 countries and played in various bands. I was very fortunate to play Hawaiian music in every major resort on Mauai and eventually became staff musician for the prestigious 'Old Lahaina Luau".  A six time recipient of the Kahili Award from the Hawaii Visitors Convention Bureau, playing next to Akoni from E Kolu, the extremely talented Sam Ako, and from KPOA Uncle Poki. In 203 I relocated to North Carolina bringing with me, my continued passion for Hawaiian music.
